Two male suspects between the ages of 29 and 32 are expected to appear before Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today, 31 October 2023 for murder.
The suspects’ court appearance emanates from their apprehension on Sunday, 29 October 2023 after they assaulted a 33-year-old man to death.
The deceased and his friends were at the local tavern when four unknown suspects and one known suspect emerged and accused the victim of stealing a laptop. Two suspects stabbed the victim with a sharp object in the upper body and the victim managed to stand up and run away.
The victim was later discovered at the hospital with multiple stab wound injuries, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
One suspect was arrested at his residence in Tshififi Village on Sunday, 29 October 2023, and the second suspect was arrested after he handed himself in to the police station on Monday 30 October 2023, and both were charged with murder.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, applauded the police for working tirelessly to ensure that senseless criminals are apprehended to face the full might of law.
Police investigations are still continuing.
