SAPS Members of Modimolle Crime Intelligence Unit and Waterberg Highway Patrol (Flying Squad) arrested a female suspect for dealing and possession of drugs, along the R101 towards Modimolle. The arrest was effected on Tuesday, 31 October 2023 at around 18:00.
The Police received information about the suspect transporting drugs with an Opel Corsa from Hammanskraal to Modimolle.
The described vehicle was spotted driving along the R101 towards Modimolle where it was stopped and searched by the Police leading to the recovery of 800 sachets of nyaope drugs with a street value of R20 000.00. The female suspect was immediately arrested, and her vehicle was also seized.
A case of dealing and possession of drugs was opened for further investigation.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has welcomed the arrest and lauded the police for their relentless efforts in removing drugs within Limpopo communities.
The suspect will appear before Modimolle Magistrate’s Court soon.
The Police investigations are still continuing.
