Ekurhuleni detectives continue to restore community trust

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole, has commended Ekurhuleni District Detectives for their concerted efforts in securing convictions to ensure that Justice is served to the victims in the District.

From the 30 October 2023 to 05 November 2023, 34 accused were sentenced for their various crimes that they have committed

The accused were sentenced as follows:

– Motsikelane Masita in Elsburg sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm that he committed on the 11th February 2022

– Norman Barry Eaton in Brakpan for the Theft case that he committed in August 2023, sentenced to 2 years imprisonment, the case was investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Strydom of SAPS Brakpan.

– Zenzele Buthelezi in Kempton Park for Possession of presumably stolen property committed in October 2020, sentenced to 4 years direct Imprisonment and another 4 years imprisonment for Tempering with essential infrastructure committed in December 2021. Both the cases were investigated by Detective Sergeant Modika in Kempton Park.

– Ndlovu Thando Mazwi in Primrose, sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for the murder case that he committed in June 2022. The case was investigated by the Detective Sergeant Munyai of SAPS Primrose.

Other accused were fined while others were sentenced to one year direct Imprisonment.

Major General Sithole encouraged members to continue with the good work and also encouraged community members to stop withdrawing serious cases, but to let the criminals face the full might of the law.
