The SAPS K9 Unit Search and Rescue recovered the body of Hlalefang Motlokoa, who was reported to have been kidnapped in Bohlokong Township last week Monday. Police have taken into custody, the mother and the daughter. The remaining six suspects, believed to be part of the same incident, are still being sought.
On 23 and 24 November 2023 the Free State Search and Rescue K9 Unit together with Bohlokong police conducted a search for the body of a young man from Bohlokong after he was last reported kidnapped on Monday, 20 November 2023, by a group of eight people who were accusing him of theft of their property at certain house in the area.
It’s alleged that the young man was last seen by his mother on 20 November 2023 at about 14:00. It is reported that the victim was allegedly confronted by two women and six men, accusing him of stealing their property.
The young man disappeared and it was discovered by police through community information that he was seen inside the Liebenbergsvlei River holding onto a tree. The Search and Rescue team were called and searched the area since last week.
The two suspects are set to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 27 November 2023 facing charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
