Dylan Angelio Raffati was convicted and sentenced to serve life imprisonment for committing sexual acts with two children aged 13 and 17 between 2018 and 2021. The parents of the two girls reported the offences at Bainsvlei police station on Wednesday 26 May 2021. The suspect was subsequently arrested on Tuesday 22 June 2021 and the lengthy trial started.
All the witnesses testified in court and the suspect was found guilty and sentenced on Monday 11 December 2023 as follows:
Count 1: 5 (five) years imprisonment
Count 2: 5 (five) years imprisonment
Count 3: 5 (five) years imprisonment
Count 4: 5 (five) years imprisonment
Count 6: Life imprisonment
Count 8: 5 (five) years imprisonment
The accused was found unfit to possess a firearm and unsuitable to work with children. Daniel Angelio Raffati particulars were included in the National Register for Sex Offenders. Sentences to run concurrently.
