Police in Botlokwa seek information that can assist in the arrest of seven armed suspects following a business robbery that left one person injured and an undisclosed amount of money and other valuables stolen. The incident allegedly took place at Mokomene Supermarket.
This incident has prompted the police to launch a massive manhunt for the suspects.
According to preliminary reports, a group of about seven suspects entered the premises in the early hours of Sunday, 17 December 2023 while the shop operator and his brother were asleep in the back room of the supermarket. The shop operator heard some walls breaking and the suspects then started firing shots through the broken walls. The shop operator’s brother got shot multiple times. He was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
The victims alleged that they were robbed of an undisclosed amount of money, groceries, airtime voucher machine and cellphones.
Police have opened a case of business robbery.
