Vhulaudzi police have arrested two suspects, aged 34 and 40, who are suspected to have sexually assaulted two victims, respectively, at Vhulaudzi on Saturday, 16 December 2023.
The victim alleged that she was at the tavern with her man and went outside to relieve herself. When she finished trying to dress herself, a known man approached her, forcefully pulling her trouser down and threatening her with a screwdriver. The victim screamed for assistance, and the suspect left her and fled the scene with his motor vehicle.
He was later arrested at Tshitavha village and will appear before Dzanani Magistratesā Court on Monday 18, December 2023 on charges of sexual assault.
In the second incident, the victim alleged that she was watching soccer at the Vhulaudzi soccer field when the suspect touched her breast, when questioned why he is touching her he allegedly poured her with a beer, and pushed her.
She then ran to police station to report the incident, the suspect was arrested at Maelula village the same day and will appear before Dzanani Magistratesā Court on Monday 18 December 2023.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
