A 67-year-old man was robbed shortly after exiting the Verulam CBD – KZN this afternoon (Thursday).
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was travelling on Old Main Road when he witnessed the victim being choked from the rear by one suspect while his accomplice was searching him. The robbers fled on foot when they noticed the approaching marked Response Vehicle.
The Reaction Officer requested backup from the Operations Centre. He pursued the robbers on foot through the Verulam Taxi Rank but lost sight of them in the large crowd of people waiting to board their transport.
The victim informed backup Officers that the sought-after males stole his Nokia cellphone and R150 in cash….
