Taxpayers hard earned money stolen by a broken social welfare system called SASSA

Social payments made to dead people and foreigners through a variety of loop holes and failings in South Africa’s SASSA payment system amount to hundreds of million of Rands each year. The biggest industry in South Africa is, collectively, crime, fraud, money laundering and every related misdemeanour you can think of. SASSA, the social welfare system reflects this reality.

  1. This month thousands of Sassa grant recipients did not receive their grants…gold sassa cards were declined…the cardless system did not work and beneficiary’s who have the grants paid directly into their bank accounts also did not receive their payments. People went to the sassa offices. They were given a letter to go to postbank/post office to collect payment. At postbank/post office they still did not get their grants because their fingerprints did not work and we’re told to return to sassa for a letter to bypass the fingerprints. How can a pensioner afford the travel back and forth with no money. Talk about passing the buck. And nothing was mentioned in the news…are we not surprised
