In an effort to eradicate the increase on Stock theft, Police are following any leads that can result to recovery of stock and bringing perpetrators to justice. Members attached to Tsolo Stock Theft Unit followed information they received and arrested two suspects and recover stolen stock in Tsolo.
Police followed up an information and proceeded to Ntibane farms where the rightful owner identified forty two (42) of his forty nine stolen sheep. The forty two (42) recovered sheep valued at about R84 000, 00 were handed over to the rightful owner who was over the moon hence the recovery of his flock by Police. Two suspects aged 41 years were arrested following the stock that was stolen at Matyeba locality between Friday, 19 January 2024 and Saturday, 20 January 2024.
Both suspects have been charged for stock theft (possession of suspected stolen stock) and will appear at Tsolo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 23 January 2024.
The OR Tambo District Commissioner Major General Phumzile Cetyane applauded the members for quick response in responding to valuable information shared. He is encouraging the community members to keep on sharing information that can lead to arrests as we together fight crime in our areas.
