Levubu police investigating rape case of a 15-year-old girl by four unknown suspects

Levubu police have opened a rape case after a girl, aged 15, was allegedly raped at Tshakhuma location next to Tshiemuemu Secondary school on Saturday 20 January 2024.

According to police reports, the victim departed her residence at Tshakhuma Masire village to purchase medication for her mother at Tshakhuma Market Phamarcy.

After a few hours, her mother called the victim’s cellphone, but she did not respond.

Reports indicate that suddenly, the mother of the victim received a phone call from a local pastor who told her that he had found her daughter walking alone and crying on the street.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the victim bought medication and boarded a Minibus to go home and found four men who took the wrong direction until they stopped next to Tshiemuemu Secondary school.

The suspects reportedly took the victim to the nearby bushes, and she was raped by one of the suspects.

The victim was later released, and the suspects drove off.

A manhunt have since been launched for their arrest.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has condemned the incident and further tasked the team of Investigators to trace and arrest the suspects to face the full might of the law.
