Meticulous investigation by the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, uMhlali Task Team, uMhlali K9 Unit, KwaDukuza police, and Crime Intelligence officers has provided a breakthrough in the mysterious murder of a police officer and led to the arrest of his fiancé.
On Saturday, 24 February 2024 the team pounced on the 34-year-old suspect at a fast food outlet in Waterloo where she worked as a store manager.
Sergeant Sakhile Manyisa was found dead on the staircases of a flat that he shared with his fiancé on Gopalall Hurbans Road in oThongathi on the morning of 24 June 2022.
With no information coming out of those who could have possibly seen or heard something, the investigating team pulled out all stops in the search for justice and all pieces of information led to the then fiancé who was duly arrested.
The suspect is due to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 26 February 2024.
