A 38-year-old male suspect was arrested by Botshabelo Crime Prevention Task Team members for robbery with a firearm case that was reported on Wednesday, 07 February 2024. The police received information about a hijacked Silver Volkswagen Touran which had been taken to a house in U-Section. The team traced the hijacked vehicle to a house in H2-Section where it was found parked inside the garage.
The members conducted a thorough search at the house. A black backpack, containing identity documents of the victim in the robbery case opened earlier during the month, was discovered. The 38-year-old owner of the house was subsequently arrested for the robbery with a firearm and car hijacking cases opened at Botshabelo Police Station. The suspect will appear in Botshabelo Magistrate Court soon.
