Police discovered drugs and equipment that are used to manufacture drugs at a storage complex in Johannesburg on Thursday, 28 March 2024. A search is underway for the suspect who rented the storage facility.
Police from Organised Crime Tracing Unit and Narcotics received information about drug manufacturing equipment stored at a self-storage facility in Weltevredenpark, Johannesburg.
The information was operationalised, and the team pounced on the facility where they found the manager of the complex. The person who rented the storage was called to the premises but he failed to avail himself.
Upon opening the self-storage facility police found mandrax tablets, chemicals, and equipment that are reported to be used to process and manufacture drugs.
Police investigation is underway, and the search for the suspect is continuing.
