ALS Paramedics responded to a shooting incident on Melbourne Road in the Umbilo area.
On arrival, Paramedics were shown to a man lying on the roadway who showed no signs of life. The man in his early forties had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
It is alleged that the man had been hijacked and his vehicle taken however SAPS are still investigating the circumstances around the shooting.
Melbourne Road was closed whilst SAPS began their investigations….
