Concerted efforts by police to rid communities of the illegal distribution of drugs landed two suspects behind bars on Wednesday morning, 01 May 2024
Members attached to the Anti Economical and Extortion Task teams searched two premises in Kensington after they received information about drugs at a premises in Drommedaris Street, Kensington. The members found 31 rounds of ammunition and 428 mandrax tablets wrapped in a plastic bag. At the second address the members found 210 mandrax tablets and 11 small packets containing crystal meth in a plastic bag. The estimated street value of the drugs is R20 000.
Two males aged 28 and 39 were arrested on charges of possession of drugs and the illegal possession of ammunition.
They will make their respective court appearances in the Cape Town Magistrates court once they have been charged.
