Teenager run over while avoiding dog attack in Temple Valley

A 13-year-old girl was run over while attempting to avoid being attacked by two Pitbulls on Lotus Road in Temple Valley – KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene.

On arrival, Reaction Officers were informed that the teen is a resident of Newcastle – KZN and was holidaying with family in Verulam – KZN.

She was returning from a tuck shop and was confronted by two Pitbulls as she approached her aunt’s home. The girl fled onto the roadway in an attempt to avoid being attacked by the charging dogs but was struck by a white VW Polo.

The dogs thereafter fled. The female sustained a bite wound to her right leg and injuries to her head and body.

Residents informed Reaction Officers that the dogs were regularly seen walking around the area but their owners were unknown. It was alleged that other pedestrians were also attacked in the past but this could not be confirmed.
