Three more arrested for Ladybrand farm house robbery

The Free State Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Murder and Robbery members working together with the Selosesha Tactical Response and Provincial Tracking Teams, arrested more suspects involved in a house robbery on 07 July 2024 at a farm in Ladybrand. Illegal rifles were also recovered.

On Tuesday 09 July 2024, the team received information about someone who is busy selling laptops in Ladybrand, Manyatseng, linking them to the recent house robbery incident that occurred in the area.

The information was followed up and on 10 July 2024 at about 02:00, a 28-year-old suspect was traced and arrested after he was found in possession of drugs and various assorted rounds of ammunition and suspected stolen cellphones.

Further information led the team to Thaba Nchu where two suspects, aged 30 and 29, were found and arrested. The two were found in possession of laptops and grinders and their arrest led to the discovery of two rifles with serial numbers filled off in Ladybrand. The firearms will be subjected to ballistic tests.

The three suspects will appear in the Ladybrand Magistrate’s Court on Friday 12 July 2024, for house robbery, possession of drugs, possession of stolen property, illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and illegal possession of ammunition. The three will join the two suspects, aged 21 and 28, arrested earlier after the house robbery on 07 July 2024 at a farm outside Ladybrand and will all appear on Tuesday 16 July 2024.
