Suspect arrested for dealing in drugs in Woodstock

Western Cape police members are intensifying its efforts to combat the scourge of illicit drugs within the community.

On Friday, 12 July 2024, Woodstock Crime Prevention Unit members embarked on an intelligence driven operation during which a foreign national male, aged 38, was arrested for dealing in drugs. The confiscated drugs were one kilogram of tik, 26 grams of tik and 160 packets of tik as well as an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. Once charged, the arrested suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates court on Monday, 15 July 2024, on the mentioned charges.

In an unrelated matter, members of Maitland Flying Squad received information on Friday evening, 12 July 2024, about dagga at an address in Gugulethu. The members responded to the address and found seven big bags of dagga, abandoned in a vehicle. The weight of all the bags is about 231 kg with an estimated street value of R60 000-00. The abandoned dagga was handed in at Guguletu SAPS….
