A farm attack took place on 6 January 2023, at 23:00 on a farm in Wolesley in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
After numerous warnings to not go outside to investigate noises or other disturbances a farmer in Wolesley did exactly that and was met with gunfire from attackers.
The farmer responded to his barking dogs and noises and went outside to investigate.
At least two attackers were on the property and they opened fire on him. The farmer who was armed returned fire causing the attackers to flee into the vineyards.
Whilst the farmer was fortunate to escape unharmed the situation could have been very much worse had he been wounded or killed.
People are again reminded to rather request assistance from neighbourhood and or farm watches and neighbours and not to put themselves and families in danger.
There were no other injuries.
All role players responded to assist but there have been no arrets.
There is no other information available at this stage.
