From the Frontline: George Verwer Mission Mobiliser Extraordinary

George Verwer, the Founder of Operation Mobilisation passed away on 14 April after a battle with cancer. https://fromthefrontline.podbean.com/e/from-the-frontline-episode-256-george-verwer-mission-mobiliser-extraordinary/ The Founder of Operation Mobilisation motivated and mobilised tens of thousands of missionary volunteers, including on the MV Logos, the MV Doulos and MV Logos Hope(which have welcomed 45 million guests on-board at over 400 ports of call in 145 countries) to proclaim, in word and action, God’s love around the globe. OM currently has 3,300 mission workers from 134 countries working in 147 countries. An estimated 300 other mission agencies were also started as a result of contact with OM or launched by former OMers. ‘Therefore, my beloved brothers be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that in the Lord your labour is not in vain’ 1 Corinthians 15:58

If you live in Cape Town, please join us at the Reformation Society this Thursday evening, 20 April, at 18:00 for Supper and Fellowship and at 19:00 for a presentation on the extraordinary life and legacy of missionary Mobiliser George Verwer, the Founder of Operation Mobilisation finished his race at 84 years old and entered eternity 14 April. As a friend of this mission and of our family, we have many great memories of this extraordinary servant of God. “Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.” Acts 13: 1 – 4
