The Carlton Centre was once the most upmarket attraction in Johannesburg. Today the Carlton hotel is locked up, does not operate and only the Carlton Mall buzzes with activity with dozens of shops. A shadow of its former glory in the 1980s and 1990s.

It used to be such a posh hotel. Who would have imagined that it become too dangerous in that area. Will probably be bought and rented out to the poor per room
