WESTERN CAPE – The vigilance by members of Table View SAPS led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man for the possession of drugs as well as bribery in Bloubergstrand on Thursday. The members were busy with crime prevention patrols when they noticed a suspicious vehicle when they pulled it over. Upon searching the vehicle the members found 15 plastic packets containing crystal meth and 140 plastic packets cocaine with an estimated street value of R60 000-00. The suspect also attempted to bribe the police officers. The cash that was offered was handed in as evidence.
The suspect will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.
In an unrelated matter members of the Commercial Crime Unit arrested a female aged 53 for fraud on Thursday. The arrest was done after the complainant opened a case against the suspect for selling a property which allegedly belong to her. The suspect defrauded the complainant of R167 000-00. The investigation into the matter continues.
The suspect will appear in the Bellville Commercial Crime court, once charged.
