A joint roadblock between Visible Policing members within Lejweleputswa District, Department of Home Affairs, Public Order Policing Unit, the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit, the Welkom K9 Unit and the Provincial Traffic Department was held on the N1 Road near Ventersburg.
The roadblock that started from 12:00 until 16:00 was successful, as 564 people and 374 vehicles were screened. A total of six traffic-related fines were issued, and 14 undocumented persons were arrested. Two suspects were also arrested for possession of about 1600 Mandrax tablets and Dagga, which weighs about 8kg.
The arrested suspects will appear in Ventersburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 04 September 2023.
