An intelligence drive operation conducted by members of Operation Restore, led to the arrest of 35-year-old woman after she was found in possession of mandrax tablets at a shopping centre in Bellville on Tuesday evening, 19 September 2023 at about 18:00.
The members received information and the description of a female who is dealing in drugs. The information was operationalized and the members found the suspect fitting the description. The members ensued with a search and discovered 75 mandrax tablets and a undisclosed amount of cash in her possession.
Once charged, the suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court for the illegal possession of drugs.
In an unrelated matter members of the Commercial Crime Unit arrested a 47-year-old female on 32 counts of fraud amounting to an amount of almost R2 million. Investigations into the matter revealed that the suspect fraudulently transferred money from her company’s bank account into her personnel banking account. These transactions transpired between May and December 2022.
The suspect made her first court appearance in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on Tuesday, 19 September 2023.
