The Provincial Serious Violent Crimes Unit in the Western Cape is investigating the shooting of five people in Gugulethu on Saturday night.

According to a SAPS statement the incident occurred in NY 5 at around 11 pm.

Police said the victims were sitting in two cars on the side of a road in the area when the gunmen arrived in a vehicle.

“The suspects, approached the two vehicles and started firing numerous shots at the two parked vehicles”.

They fled in the same vehicle that dropped them off and remain at large.

Four men and a woman were killed in that incident which following another shooting also in Gugulethu where four people in two vehicles were shot and killed.

No further details were provided of the second incident
