The Police in Mokwakwaila outside Tzaneen have on Saturday 07 October 2023 opened a case of murder and inquest docket following the deaths of a couple in Tlhotlhokwe village.
It is reported that the Police received information about the two bodies discovered in the bushes on Saturday 07 October 2023 and upon arrival they discovered a body of female person lying on the ground having open wounds on the forehead and also bleeding from the ears and nose and also a discovery of a dead body of male person hanging on the tree.
It is alleged that when the son of the male deceased realised he is not coming back home he went to look for him in the nearby bushes and discovered the lifeless bodies of his father and the fiancée and then he reported to the Police.
The deceased were identified as Pulane Moremi unknown age female and Gilbert Rabothata, aged 70.
A case of murder and an inquest docket are being investigated to determine the circumstances surrounding the untimely deaths of the couple and domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident indicating that when people are have personal problems they should seek assistance from professionals to avoid these kind of tragedies.
Police investigations are continuing.
