Three alleged hijacking suspects were swiftly arrested by police members soon after a vehicle was hijacked in Settlers Park in Central on 23 October 2023.
It is alleged that at about 07:50, the 22-year-old complainant had just parked his vehicle in How Avenue when he was approached by three males and a female. He was pointed with a firearm and the keys to his grey Hyandai Atos was taken. The suspects got into the vehicle and drove off.
At about 08:30, SAPS Humewood members spotted the vehicle in Marine Drive in Summerstrand. A chase ensued and the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and fled into bushes. With the assistance of SAPS Walmer and Mount Road, three suspects (2 males and a female) were arrested.
The suspects, aged between 30-40 years old were detained on a charge of vehicle hijacking.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
