SAPS Hamburg detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of an unknown female whose body was found on the river bank on Wednesday, 18 October 2023.
Police were summoned to a scene at the bank of Keiskamma River, where the body of a naked woman was found. The body had a red lace on the waist and a pink tekkie on the right foot. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the age and race cannot be determined at this stage. Some body parts are also missing.
An inquest docket was opened for investigation. A preliminary investigation was conducted but, with no success.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in identifying the deceased or may know her next of kin to contact SAPS Hamburg detectives on 083 682 5163 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
