Waterval Police are investigating a case of birth concealment following the discovery of a mutilated new born baby’s body near a dam in Waterval under Vhembe District.
On Thursday, 23 November 2023 at about 08:30, the Police were alerted following the discovery along the bridge at Magangeni dam. A community member was walking along the bridge when he noticed the body of a new born baby boy with some body parts missing.
At this stage, no one has been arrested, investigation continues.
The Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, expressed her utmost shock at this heart breaking and callous act. “These incidents are strongly condemned in the strongest terms because parents are supposed to be protectors of their own children,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
