The Ficksburg police need community assistance in locating a suspected hijacked white Toyota Quantum 2.7 Diesel with registration HLN 115 MP which was taken at gunpoint by two unknown male suspects.
It’s alleged that on 20 December 2023 at about 02:30, the 39-year-old driver from Embalenhle-Secunda in Mpumalanga Province was at Ficksburg to offload the passengers. After offloading he went to nearby filling station where he alleged to have picked up two male persons who were headed to Bethlehem direction and gave them lift.
Unfortunately at about 10 kilometers outside Ficksburg one of two pointed him with a firearm and drove the kombi back to Ficksburg direction whilst the second suspect fled on foot. He managed to untie himself and got assistance from another taxi that was passing by to report the incident to local police. A case of car hijacking is being investigated.
