Yesterday evening, just before 7 pm, Mi7 National Group’s Emergency Medical Services was dispatched to the Hiberdene area after reports of an assault.
Mi7 medics found two male patients, one that had been stabbed in the hand and the other assaulted with a knobkerrie-type weapon.
It is believed the two men went to an isolated beach with their family when three suspects approached and tried to grab the family’s pram – with an infant in carry.
The two patients, both in the security cluster, fought back and sustained injuries in the scuffle. The suspects fled on foot. Both patients were stabilized and transported to hospital for further treatment.
We urge holidaymakers to avoid using isolated beaches; rather use common beach areas where other members of the public are present.
