Collaborative efforts between a private security company and South African Police Service (SAPS) members culminated in the arrest of two suspects in Klerksdorp on Thursday night, 21 December 2023.
Police were called by a security company personnel and alerted them of two suspects who were seen jumping the fence with a parcel carrying a lightning conductor and copper pipes. Upon arrival, the police found the pair and arrested them after failing to account for possession of suspected stolen property. At this stage, the police cannot confirm other items stolen from the house as the owners are still away on Christmas holidays.
The duo, aged 23 and 26, are expected to appear before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 27 December 2023, for possession of suspected stolen property and trespassing.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, applauded the security company and the police for working together to ensure the arrest.
