A sad start to the new year, at around 15:45 Ethekwini firefighters responded to a house fire at Crescenda Place in Chatsworth.
Initial reports were that an elderly female was entrapped in the house despite the best efforts by the Ethekwini firefighters,
The female succumbed to her injuries sustained by the fire and smoke.
Local authorities were on the scene for assistance and further investigations…
