Missing person’s body found and murder case opened

Tseseng police with the assistance of members of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit found the body of a reported missing person, Thabang Issac Phuti aged 44 of Matsopaneng Section of Tseseng Village who was last seen on 26 December 2023 at about 18:00 by his family.

The body of Thabang Phuthi was found in a cave near Matsupaneng Village in a state of decompose by Stock Theft Community Patrollers of Tseseng Village who works closely with police in the fight against livestock in that area. The family was notified and positively identified the body. A case of murder is being investigated.

The family on 30 December 2023 at about 20:00 came to police station and alleged he was last seen at a local tavern and came back home to change into other clothes. He was wearing black gum boots, red cap, green and grey body warmer, and green stripe T-shirt and returned back to same tavern carrying two empty bottles of beer but he never returned. He was residing alone in his shack which is not far away from his parent’s house.
