Crime Prevention Task Team in Botshabelo arrested a 44-year-old herdsman for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition on Monday 01 January 2024. The police searched the cattle herder near Botshabelo Cemetery and found in his possession a Black Z88 Parabellum pistol loaded eight (8) 9mm live rounds of ammunition. The suspect didn’t have the firearm license to possess the firearm and ammunition.
A case of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition was opened at Botshabelo police station. The firearm and ammunition were booked in Evidence Management System and the suspect was detained in police custody. The suspect will appear in Botshabelo Magistrate Court soon.
