Orania’s schools again performed very well in the IEB (independent examination board) and state matric exams respectively. Both schools’ Orania matrics achieved a 100% pass rate.

Since 1993, Orania CVO School has maintained a 100% matric pass rate. Orania CVO School forms part of the network that writes the Independent Examinations Board’s matric exams, the IEB’s nationwide pass rate this year was 98.46%. According to reporting on Netwerk24, experts have pointed out that the state education department “can go to the IEB for its excellent figures”.
CVO-Orania’s 17 Matrics all passed, 9 achieved subject distinctions and 13 earned university admission.

The best performer was Johannes Koen with Eduan Coetzee and Ancois Wiid in second and third place respectively

Volkskool Orania, which follows an alternative education system with a heavy focus on the children’s personal responsibility, also achieved a 100% pass rate with university admission. Volkskool’s matrics write the education department’s national senior certificate examination, and scholars in Orania can therefore choose which system they want to join. Volkskool also has a strong distance learning program across the country.

Congratulations to all the matriculants! Wherever your study, occupation and life paths take you, you must not forget your Orania roots.
