Power utility Eskom has announced that load shedding will be pushed to stage 6. The utility pushed through a late-night alert on Friday (9 February) noting that, in spite of returning two generating units to service over the last 24 hours, two generating units were also taken offline. This Eskom report comes just 24 hours after President Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address suggesting load shedding would soon be a thing of the past.
