The relentless efforts by Police to combat distribution and dealing in drugs across the province continue to yield positive results.
Evidently, on Saturday 24 February 2024 between 05:00 and 06:00, two foreign nationals aged 40 and 47 including a 28 year-old female suspect were apprehended at separate locations for dealing in drugs in Lephalale under Waterberg District.
The trio were nabbed during a tactical led operation that was jointly conducted by the members of Provincial Narcotic Team, Lephalale Dog Unit (K9) and Public Order Policing (POPS).
The operation commenced at Waterlellie, Onverwacht residence which led to a 47-year-old foreign national male suspect being nabbed for possession of large quantity of drugs.
The suspect was found in possession of 400 sachets of Nyaope , large quantity of dagga and Crystal Meth with an estimated street value of over R40 000,00
Police proceeded to Batteleur Flats, Onverwacht and also found another 40-year-old foreign male suspect who was together with a 28-year-old South African woman who is believed to be his girlfriend.
The residence was thoroughly searched and police discovered a cupboard inside the bedroom that concealed Crystal Meth drugs with an estimated street value of over R34000-00. The duo was immediately placed under arrest and the drugs were seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the female suspect is a police Constable stationed in Gauteng province.
“I would like to assure the would be drug dealers in the province that their time is up , and police will leave no stone unturned until they are nabbed,” said the Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
The three suspects will appear before the Lephalale Magistrate court soon facing charges of dealing in drugs.
Police investigations are continuing.
