The kidnapped businessman from Gqeberha, Neal Ah-Tow was released on Friday evening.
No ransom was paid for his release.
Ah-Tow was kidnapped outside his business premises, Neal’s Fish and Chips in Sidwell, on 1 March, and four days later a ransom of US$1.4 million was demanded.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela says he was allegedly dropped off at Marikana in Despatch at around 9.30 pm on Friday.
She says he got lost and asked around until an unknown person took him to the Mount Road police station.
Mgolodela says he was not in good condition and was tired, physically assaulted, and hungry.
He was released to his family and family doctor.
