A 36-year-old female was arrested in East London yesterday after Flying Squad members received information about an unknown woman who was traveling from Bloemfontein to East London by bus. The suspect was suspected to be in possession of drugs.
The bus was spotted and followed to Windmill roadhouse (bus station), and a female passenger was pointed out. Police then requested permission to search her bag, which was granted by her.
Upon searching the suspect’s bag, they recovered drugs suspected to be Tik, fifteen bricks of crystal meth were found in her possession.
Drugs weighed 20.50 kg in total to the street value of R3 million rands were confiscated by Police.
The suspect was arrested facing the charge of Dealing in drugs and will appear before the East London Magistrate Court tomorrow 15 April 2024.
