Earlier today, our Fidelity Specialised teams noticed a Nissan LDV bakkie trying to fill up a bowser trailer at an Engen garage. The team decided to block the vehicle and investigate.
Upon inspection, it was found that the vehicle was affixed with a false registration plate and the suspects had tried to fill 900 litres worth 20k. SAPS was called to the scene.
The suspect was searched and found to own an FNB fleet card which appeared to belong to a construction company.
The suspect was detained at Diepkloof SAPS and the vehicle and trailer were taken to Lenasia Vehicle Pound.
Great work by our SIU team on their vigilance which led to this arrest and stopped this crime!
