(1968) According to tradition, Maria Roux was on her way from Willowmore with her fiancé to visit her mother in Uniondale to discuss their wedding.

The wind was gale-force and Maria’s fiancée lost control of the car and collided inside a ditch.

It was determined that Mary died instantly.

Although there is another story as well…

That Maria fell out of the car with the blow, that the ambulance alone picked up her fiancé who was unconscious, because they didn’t realize there was still someone in the car.

Her fiancé later asked about her in hospital and that’s when they realised they had left her there… but it was too late, she was already cumming from the cold…

What the true events are can only be questioned, but that her ghost is still roaming the N9 between Willowmore and Uniondale has been confirmed by more than one person.

In 1976, Anton Le Grange, a young woman was seen standing by the side of the road.

He pulled over and the woman got in on the passenger side.

He got no answer when he asked where she was going.

He told her that it was very dangerous for a woman to stand alone on the side of the road so late, but again received no answer.

When he looked her way, there was no one…

    She disappeared.

He reported it to the Police Station but they thought he was under the influence, but a Constable drove after him to where the incident took place.

The Police Constable saw Le Grange’s car door on the passenger side open and close, and he could hear a woman laughing…

This Policeman still thought that Le Grange was joking and drove back after him.

The Car’s Door opened and closed itself again, even though it was locked!

    The Constable was speechless.

He contacted his colleague, Pat MacDonald, who told him about the 1968 crash.

Le Grange gave a description of the woman, and it agreed with that of Maria Roux.
