38-year-old man is expected to appear before the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 May 2024, for stock theft and malicious damage to property. The man and his four accomplices allegedly stole eight cattle in December 2023, and also poisoned 44 others at a farm outside Bray near Vryburg.
The Provincial Investigation team and North West Tracing Team were instructed to lead the investigation of the case. Investigation led the team to Morokweng where the ring leader was arrested on Friday, 17 May 2024, after being positively linked to the two cases. The search continues for four other suspects who are said to be working in Kuruman, Northern Cape.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, applauded the team for an excellent job that they displayed in cracking this case. The Provincial Commissioner instructed that no stone must be left unturned to ensure that the outstanding suspects are brought to book to face the full might of the law.
