Three unknown males suprised society people and robbed the members while counting their money contributed.
On 8 June 2024 at about 15:30, Ladies belonging to a society were busy counting money at a house in Edenburg.
It is alleged that the 14 society members, were suprised by three unknown males wearing balaclavas carrying firearms. The suspects took the contributions and robbed the members of their belongings before they fled the scene.
An undisclosed amount of cash was robbed and no one was injured. Edenburg police were summoned to the scene and a manhunt was launched. Investigations continue and no arrests made as yet. Appeal is hereby made to members of societies similar to this one to rather opt to the safer ways of transferring money through banking rather than physically handling it.
Police opened a case of House robbery for further investigation and are pleading with anyone who might have information on the suspects to contact Detective Constable Cynthia Leeuw on 0795409966 of Edenburg police, or call police crimeline 08600 10111 or drop an anonymous tip off on MySapsApp.
