This may very well be one of the most important interviews I have ever had the honor to conduct. For almost an hour and forty minutes, you will see the Hamas attack on October 7th through the eyes of a remarkable teenager who survived that terrible day. Ela Shani Kuzin, 15 years old (she was 14 at the time of the attack) is a survivor of the Hamas attack on Kibbutz Be’eri. She escaped under intense fire with her 8-year-old brother Eyal and her mother Sharon. Ela’s father, Itzik Kuzin, was tragically murdered on October 7th, as were many of her friends and nearly 100 community members. Her cousin, 16-year-old Amit Shani, was kidnapped by Hamas and dragged into Gaza wearing only his pajamas. Amit is like a brother to Ela, and the family is devastated. Ela joined a delegation of hostage families to the US to advocate for his freedom. Fortunately, Amit was released during the first deal.
