The Police in Levubu under Vhembe District are investigating a case of arson after a house in Ha Mutsha Tshiluvhi Village was burned down on Friday, 14 June 2024 at around 04:00 in the morning.
It is alleged that the complainant was asleep in her house when her grandson awakened her to alert her about their house which was burning.
She quickly woke up and shouted for help. Community members gathered, but the whole house had already caught fire.
The family managed to escape the fire blaze and up to so far no injuries have been reported.
The total value of the damage caused is estimated at R600,000.
Police opened a case of arson for further investigations.
