PARLIAMENT HAS NOT YET RECEIVED ANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT “K-WORD VIDEO”.
Parliament says it has not yet received any complaints against the new DA MP, Renaldo Gouws, regarding the controversial video in which he uses the k-word.
The DA decided last week to suspend Gouws from the party, pending an internal disciplinary process due to the video he made in 2010.
The general secretary of the trade union federation, SAFTU, Zwelinzima Vavi, says they support that Gouws should be suspended as an MP, because his “hateful, racist views and statements are unconstitutional and pose a danger to the citizens of South Africa.”
The general secretary of Cosatu, Solly Phetoe, also appealed to the National Prosecuting Authority to charge Gouws criminally. The Human Rights Commission also indicated, after the incident came to light, that they were investigating the matter.
