149 years of Fellowship of real AFRIKANERS: What is the lean and what is the truth

The Fellowship of True Afrikaners was founded on 14 August 1875 in the town of Paarl by a group of Afrikaans speakers from the Western Province. The society published a journal from January 15, 1876, called

The Afrikaans Patriot, as well as several books such as dictionaries, religious materials and history books were published. The African Patriot died in 1905.

With the anniversary of this day, many questions are answered anew and then many questions can also be asked…

The questions answered:

Are we Boers or are we Afrikaners? We are indeed Afrikaners! The pursuit of one’s own identity did not arise recently, but had taken hold long before 1875.

The genesis of the GRA was precisely to promote AFRIKANERSHIP and to start enforcing our AFRIKANERSHIP!

It was not known as the “Fellowship of real Boers” or anything like that, but as the “Fellowship of Real Afrikaners”.

The term BOER was a surname given to the Boers during the Second Liberation War.

By disregarding our AFRIKANERSHIP our TRUE identity as an Afrikaner is disregarded. For our ancestors, it was a privilege and an honour to be known as Afrikaners. Throughout history, the word AFRIKANER has been honoured in music

Examples such as:

• Afrikaner compatriots, Be faithful to people and language

• Afrikaners are fun, It can believe you

• Where and marry as Afrikaners – children of South Africa! (2nd verse of The Voice)

The name Afrikaner is not linked to some liberal group of people, but rather it can be said, that the name is construed by the liberals as a scolding name to alienate us from our heritage.

Then I’m going to quote work that the GRA did that is lied to by a sect of “preacher” here as well. The translation of the 1933 translation. I’m going to quote the sect leader’s words here and refute them with evidence

I quote what the “Farmer’s Son of Migdol” proclaims

“CHURCH TREASON AGAINST THE NAME OF THE ALMIGHTY:

On 14 Aug 1875 the Fellowship of True Afrikaners was founded ~(G R A)~

At the annual meeting of 24/8/1878 a plea for the translation of the State Bible into Afrikaans was made, and approved in principle.

After a lull of 6 years, the matter was brought up again in 1884. The G.R.A decided to translate the Afrikaans translation from the original languages, taking into account the State Bible.

The translation work was assigned to S J du Toit, then director of education in the Transvaal. It was decided to retain the Proper Name YaHWeH and Elohim throughout, and that it should not be replaced by the titles “LORD of God”.

However, the translation of S J du Toit did not fall to the Church’s liking, and after his death in 1911 it was recommended that the Dutch church in South Africa should translate the Bible into Afrikaans. Consequently, in 1916, a commission was appointed for the task.

Dr B Keet and Dr J D du Toit (the son of S J du Toit) pleaded that the Bible should not be translated from the foundational text but from the State Bible, and on 22/11/1916 the proposal was adopted.

An example of the direct conversion from the States translation by Dr J D du Toit appeared in

“Did Church Magazine” from 15/10/1916, saying, among other things, that (quote) ~

“The Proper Name YHWH is henceforth written as *LORD*.”

With the result that all translations thereafter, even in the 1933 Afrikaans translation, the proper name YHWH or ELOHIM does not occur a single time, only the “titles” as it was decided.
