    Looking Forward to 2025

    Thank you for 2024
Before we look forward to our exciting plans for 2025, we just want to say a huge thank you to all of the people who have contributed to our first year as a political party. We literally could not have made it this far without you and we appreciate each and every one of you more than you will even know. Thank you !!!

    Key Focus Areas
    Building our RP community
The key focus of 2025 will be building our community. As we look ahead to the 2026 and 2029 elections, building an enthusiastic and committed team will be the difference between our success and failure. We have a powerful and inspiring message to share.

    An alternative to the GNU
As people begin to accept that the GNU is not going to save them from ill-considered policies like BEE, BELA, and NHI, and as growth remains low and unemployment and crime high, more and more voters will begin to see what we have always seen, that the national government is not going to provide the future we want for ourselves. We have to take charge of our own destiny.

A recent media article by Phil Craig on this subject was very well received. https://www.referendumparty.org/news/failure-of-gnu-inevitable

    Legislation
We will be submitting two pieces of legislation to parliament: our Non-racialism Bill, and our Provincial Illegal Settlements Bill. We will run public participation campaigns around both. Not only are these important measures which no other party is addressing, they also help raise the profile of the Referendum Party and provide a glimpse of what an independent Western Cape will be like.

    Our long walk to freedom
To promote our Non-racialism Bill, we are organising a 3-day walk from Paarl to Cape Town. It will pass a number of locations along the way which are symbolic with non-racialism. We are currently looking at 24 – 26 January. Please contact Robert King (073 097 7638) if you would like to take part on one or more days. Everyone is welcome.
